In a Sentimental Mood

It's 2020, it's virus season. The world we know is changing. And we have no idea if towards a direction we’ll like. Launching a new label during the odd era of COVID-19 might seem naive, or even stupid. But we rather just start before asking too many questions. Not going out (& not having work) gave us the opportunity to start what we wanted to start anyways – no matter what crisis is happening around us! Holla @ Kommerz Records, a new platform for progressive flexing in instrumental hip-hop, house, jazz and beyond. We tell extraordinary stories about music and the worlds surrounding it, accompanied by fun product design.

We are Lukas and Jonathan Nixdorff, two brothers, who grew up thinking rap is the most important genre in the world, until we found out it’s not. Far more than a decade later we still represent hip-hop culture 100%, but meanwhile organize techno raves with our crew PAPER BERLIN and keep it unreal at times. We birth Kommerz Records as a platform for all aspects we love about music.
